Anaheim and Disneyland with kids aged 3 to 6
The original Disney park, sized for little legs
Disneyland Resort is far more compact than Walt Disney World, which makes it a great first theme park trip for kids aged 3 to 6. The two parks sit next to each other, so going back to a nearby hotel for a nap is realistic.
Best time to go
Weekdays outside school holidays are calmest. Late winter and fall often have pleasant weather. Summer weekends and holidays are the busiest.
Getting around
Many hotels on Harbor Boulevard are within walking distance of the gates. Anaheim Resort Transportation shuttles connect more distant hotels.
Stroller notes
Walking distances are shorter than in Florida, but a stroller still helps. Stroller parking is marked near most attractions.
Toilets and changing
Restrooms are frequent. The Baby Care Center on Main Street, U.S.A. offers changing tables, a quiet nursing area, and small toilets.
Nap tips
Stay within walking distance so you can return for a nap and a swim, then come back for the evening.

FAQ
Disneyland or Disney World for a 4 year old?
Disneyland is easier for many families with preschoolers because it is compact and walkable. Disney World offers more but involves more travel time between parks.
How many days do we need at Disneyland with small kids?
Two park days plus a rest or beach day suits most families with kids aged 3 to 6.
Are there rides for kids under 40 inches?
Yes, many. Most Fantasyland rides, the carousels, and Toontown attractions have no height requirement. Check the official Disneyland app for current requirements.
